The crane, (Japanese 折鶴 orizuru "folded crane") is one best known traditional models and folded from the bird base. A traditional Japanese belief holds that if you fold a thousand, you are granted a wish. It is also a symbol of peace and origami in general.
Folding the modelEdit
Begin with a bird base.
- Fold the split sides inward, using the center line as a guideline. For best performance, do not fold all the way to the line. Repeat behind.
- Inside reverse fold the two narrowed flaps.
- Inside reverse fold on a narrowed flap for the head.
- Inflate through the bottom and spread the wings.
